U.S. MINISTRY VISIT A SUCCESS
------------------------------------------------------------
God blessed in meetings across Ohio, Texas and California during
September as Peter Wade ministered the message of "Christ In"
and "In Christ". It was well received by hungry hearts.
Jon & Marsha Nessle hosted the Cleveland OH meeting and it was
great to see both young and old believers enjoy the Word in
north-eastern Ohio. Alan & Kathy Anderson hosted the meeting in
Xenia OH. Many folk who had known Peter from 32 or more years ago
came along to hear the teaching. A good number of young people
were present and asked excellent questions at the end of the
teaching.
Mike & Pam Sommer hosted the meeting in Minster OH, where
again a mixture of old friends and new folk enjoyed hearing who
they are in Christ. The Ohio visit concluded with a great Sunday
morning service at Tipp City with the Christian Family
Fellowship. Rev. John and Mary Lou Shroyer were the gracious
hosts. The church was full of believers ready to hear the Word
and rejoice in what God had done for them. The service was
followed by a chicken dinner and good fellowship.
Peter then went on to Texas and attended the Christ-life
Campmeeting in Tyler TX and enjoyed the teachings of Warren
Litzman and other speakers.
The final stop on the visit was to Petaluma CA where a large
group of believers from northern California met for a fellowship
meeting and potluck supper at the home of Geri Johnson. The
fellowship was exceptional and a great closing highlight to a
successful and productive visit to the USA. Many invitations were
received to visit new areas in the future.
Thanks to everyone for their love, kindness and support. In
all, we had good meetings, good fellowship, good weather... and
why not, for we have a great, big, wonderful God.
If you missed out on hearing Peter on this visit, your next
opportunity is at the International Bible Conference in 2003 --
see below for the details.

INSIGHTS FROM MY WRITING
------------------------------------------------------------
THE POSITIVE COMMAND
"... but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans
12:2).
We learned the negative command in Romans 12:2 is "Do not be
conformed to this world". "But" sets the negative and positive
commands in contrast, and the words "conformed" and "transformed"
give impact to the distinction.
Some recent translations of this positive command are "Be
transfigured in the renewing of your mind", "Be transformed
(changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind -- by its new
ideals and its new attitude", "By your new attitude of mind be
transformed", "By the new ideals that mold your minds continue to
transform yourselves.
The word "transformed" is an adequate translation. The same
word is translated elsewhere as "transfigured" and "changed
into." The Greek word has been taken into the English language as
"metamorphosis" and it means a change of form. It is still used
in the field of zoology, where it is applied to the change that
takes place when a caterpillar becomes a butterfly or a tadpole
becomes a frog. The change is radical and distinct and definitely
for the better.
Think of the caterpillar wriggling its way along a twig, bound
to an earthly existence, and yet once it has been through the
process of metamorphosis it lives in a new world of unlimited
flight. Instead of being a grub with hairy legs, it now has
beautiful, soft wings, often brilliantly colored -- a joy to
behold!
I Peter 1:14 reminds me that my former desires are stored in
my mind and did not get eradicated when I experienced the new
birth. "As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the
former desires, as in your ignorance."
The reason God commands me to be transformed by the renewing
of my mind is that these desires need to be replaced with the
promises of the Word, and the way to do this is to renew my mind
to what the Word says.(From "Renewing Your Mind", Chapter 2, by
Peter Wade, adapted by Hildy Matthews.)
AFFIRMATION: God has never asked me to do anything that is
impossible, so I will follow His guidance and be transformed by
the renewing of my mind.

DEAD TO SIN AND ALIVE TO GOD
------------------------------------------------------------
Don't miss this (perhaps final) opportunity for six nights,
seven days, 18 meals, and blessings uncountable!
2003 International Bible Conference,
January 3-9, at Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia.
All the information is ONLINE -- follow the link from our
Home Page. *** As at this date, we have negotiated another eight
places, but HURRY! ***
Peter Wade and Norman Campbell are the speakers. The teaching
will be HUGE and expanding! But you won't have to line up early
to find a seat in a 2,000-seat auditorium. This conference is
deliberately SMALL and intimate -- the speakers are not hidden
away but mingle with you every day. You will grow up in Christ as
you rub shoulders with other like-minded believers. This will be
six days that you will remember all your life! Get your
registrations in quickly as there is just one room left and a few
individual places.

INSIGHTS FROM EVERY BOOK OF THE BIBLE (G. Campbell Morgan)
------------------------------------------------------------
G. Campbell Morgan was a well-known preacher and writer of over
60 books from the first half of the 20th century. In each issue
he gives a comment from one verse in every chapter of the Bible.
We continue with Paul's second letter to the Corinthians.
"I overflow with joy in all our affliction " (II Cor. 7:4).
What a wonderful and glorious word this is! Observe the
circumstances, and the experience. The former were those of
affliction. Already in this letter we have seen much of the
sufferings of this man. Immediately following this declaration he
referred to other phases of them; the flesh with no relief;
fightings without, fears within. Surely there was nothing in
circumstances to cause joy. Yet notice the experience. It was not
that of stoical indifference. It was more than that of calm
resignation. It was even more than that of quiet content. "I
overflow with joy." It is the language of a happy, and even
exultant heart.
What was the reason of such joy amid such circumstances? It
was that of the manifestations of true Christian character in the
children of God. Titus had visited him and told him the effect
produced in the Corinthian Christians by the letter which he had
sent to them. That letter had been one of rebuke, a letter
calculated to produce sorrow and repentance, and all the things
of a true Christian experience had been manifested in them. This
was the reason of his overflowing joy. And it is ever so. John,
writing to Gaius the beloved, said: "Greater joy have I none than
this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." This is the
present reward of all who, "working with God", commend themselves
as His servants. No circumstances of personal affliction can dim
the gladness of seeing souls grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus.
