Our Beliefs
The human phraseology employed in this statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full Gospel ministry. No claim is made that it contains all the truth in the Bible, only that it covers orthodox fundamental matters.
“We hold and accept the early statement of Christian doctrine known as the Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God (Gen. 1:1, Eph. 3:14,15), the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son (John 3:16), our Lord (Acts 2:36), who was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:18) and born of the virgin Mary (Matt. 1:25). He suffered under Pontius Pilate (Luke 23:23.24), was crucified (Acts 2:23), died (Luke 23:46), and was buried (Luke 23:53); he descended to hell (I Peter 3:19). The third day he rose again from the dead (Acts 2:24). He ascended to heaven (Mark 16:19-20) and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty (Acts 2:34). From there he will come to judge the living and the dead (II Tim. 4:1).
I believe in the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38,39), the holy catholic [i.e. universal] church (Eph. 4:4,5), the communion of saints (Rom. 12:4-13), the forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7), the resurrection of the body (I Thess. 4:13-18), and the life everlasting (John 3:16). Amen.”
